Halftime: Giants 12, Dallas 7
By Matt Cordon (kh). Filed in Dallas Cowboys News in Brief |
[Update #1]: There goes Tony Romo!
[Update #2]: Not a good throw. It’s tipped…and there’s a pick by the Giants. Alrighty, then.
Looking for a hero? Drew Bleds…..so he really didn’t need to throw that second down pass from the Giants 4. And he really didn’t need that first quarter, either. So if there is a hero in the first half, it has to be Terrence Newman, who intercepted an Eli Manning pass in the end zone with the Giants leading 12-0. Dallas took the ball 80 yards on the ensuing drive to cut the lead to 12-7 on a one-yard run by Bledsoe. Tiki Barber fumbled on the Giants’ next possession, and the Cowboys drove it to the Giants’ 4. But Bledsoe tried to hit Terry Glenn near the goalline, and Sam Madison picked it off.
From Good Times:
Remember that interception to Newman. It was third-and-one at the Cowboys’ 31 and the Giants went for a deep ball, T-New gets the pick. The Cowboys go down and score. Game has changed.
I can’t figure out how the Cowboys prepared for this week. Strahan and Lavar Arrington had sacks without being touched. I suppose this is what you get when you try to piece together a line.
