Game Summary
By Matt Cordon (kh). Filed in Dallas Cowboys News in Brief |Halftime: Dallas 21, Tampa Bay 10
I guessed Dallas 28, Tampa Bay 10 as a final score, so I can say that no matter what happens, I wasn’t too far off.
The game didn’t start as expected, as Tampa Bay marched down on a 10-play, 80-yard drive. The Buccaneers’ one threat– Joey Galloway– caught a 53-yarder to set up the score.
But the rest of the half was the Tony Romo show. 13 of 19 for 171 yards and 3 TDs. He ran a great two-minute drill at the end of the half to set up the one-yard touchdown pass to Marion Barber.
Only disappointments: no running game, with Barber and Jones combining for 36 yards); dropped passes (three by Owens and another by Terry Glenn). But here is some big news: Dallas only has one penalty for 10 yards.
Dallas has 199 yards in total offense, compared with 183 for Tampa.

Final: Dallas 38, Tampa Bay 10
I have to admit that I didn’t agree with the decision to go to Romo before the Giants game. In fact, I thought that the Cowboys should wait until after the Thanksgiving Day game, if at all, to make the move. Wow, was I wrong. Final stats for Mr. Romo: 22 of 29, 306 yards, 5 TDs, 0 Ints.
How good is that? According to Prime Computing’s calculator, it is a 148.9 passer rating. Just a little bit out of this world.
Barber ended up cleaning up and finished with 83 yards on 16 carries, including a very good 24-yard run on the final clock-killing drive. Terrell Owens caught 8 for 107 yards and a TD. After that first drive, the Cowboys looked the best they have all year, and that includes the Colts game.
