Videos, for Lack of Interest in Anything Else

Spent the day arguing over (a) whether Jimmy Johnson would have had better success than Bill Parcells if he had been given the same authority that Parcells has, and (2) who the best coach of all-time is. This is what Cowboys blogging on this venue has become these days…

So I found some Cowboys videos that are far more interesting. Thanks to Mustangswillneverdie for posting these.

Mick doesn’t seem like he has much to write about either.

Still all quiet on The Ranch front, save David Lee, with an expiring contract, debating whether or not to take the offensive coordinator’s job at the University of Arkansas, where he last coached before taking his first NFL assistant’s job with the Cowboys. He’d like to stay, but needs to know if he should go.

Tim Cowlishaw is still trying to figure out the Parcells situation, and I’ll leave it to him to bring you the “latest”:

A week ago I was dead certain that Parcells was done in Dallas, either by his choice or Jones’ mandate. Parcells had failed to gain the results he is paid to produce, even with the NFL’s healthiest team in December. Then the luck of the draw gave the Cowboys a wounded Seattle team, and the team failed to take advantage.

If that didn’t push Parcells into retirement, I believed I knew enough about Jones’ feelings that he would have given him the shove.

Then came a very surprising and very quiet week at Valley Ranch.

Parcells made no public comments but told his coaches he had not made up his mind about staying or retiring.

Jones was quoted several times as saying he hoped Parcells would return, but that means nothing. What is he going to say in public – “I wish he’d take his .500 record to Saratoga so we can move forward”?

The way the situation is being portrayed is that Parcells simply hasn’t made up his mind and that Jones is waiting patiently for an answer.

And nothing about that depiction makes sense.
