Dallas vs. Buffalo

For the second straight week, the Cowboys’ biggest challenge is to avoid a letdown against a weaker opponent. This is also a Monday night game, as you know, so there may be more news tomorrow.

* The Bills will start rookie quarterback Trent Edwards due to an injury to J.P. Losman. Dallas Cowboys.com has a piece on Edwards.

Monday night will bring a new challenge for the NFL’s eighth-ranked defense: The Buffalo Bills (1-3) and rookie quarterback Trent Edwards, who obviously is short on experience, but on the other hand the Cowboys are short on knowledge about the former Stanford quarterback.

Edwards led the Bills to a 17-14 victory over the New York Jets in his NFL starting debut start last Sunday. And with fourth-year veteran starter J.P. Losman still nursing a grade-one sprained MCL, the team’s third-round draft choice will now be starting a second time, but this one in the nationally-televised Monday night game from Ralph Wilson Stadium – only the Bills’ first home appearance on Monday Night Football since 1994.

* The Dallas Morning News had a piece on defensive tackle Tank Johnson, who will start to see action in a few weeks.

* Lastly, Terence Newman will return to the starting lineup Monday, but he will be replacing Anthony Henry, who injured his ankle last week.
