Given that the Cowboys are facing a team considered to be on the hottest streak in the NFC, it is a little bit surprising how many people are taking the Cowboys. Consider this:

* Six of the eight experts on ESPN took Dallas.

* Dallas won a significant majority of the simulations arranged by Accuscore and by What If Sports (see below)

* 64% of the players on Pigskin Pick’em picked Dallas to cover the 1 1/2 point spread.

Not that any of this really matters, but we are seeing more respect for the Cowboys than we might have thought.

Accuscore

According to AccuScore, Dallas won 60.6% of the 10,000 simulations by an average score of 27.8 to 23.9. Here is the blurb from the site:

Dallas is hitting on all cylinders right now and have a 60% chance of getting their second straight road win vs NFC East competition. While the Giants are sacking Romo multiple times, he is effective out of the pocket and is averaging over 270 yards and nearly 2 TDs per sim. The Giants are led by Brandon Jacobs who is running for over 5 ypc and 1 TD per sim. Eli Manning is averaging 1.3 interceptions per sim. If he can avoid interceptions the Giants win, but the chances of him doing that are low.

What If Sports

What If Sports had results even more lopsided than AccuScore. The complete list is below:

Pigskin Pick’em

Here is the brief preview of the Cowboys-Giants on Pigskin Pick’em:

The Cowboys face the hottest team in the NFC as one of the best rivalries in the NFL takes center stage. Dallas has won all four of its games on the road and the last two games in this series. These teams met in the season opener, with the Cowboys winning, 45-35. Tony Romo threw for 345 yards and four TD passes

As for the remaining games, I’m going with most of the favorites this week, despite my thought that at least one of the winless teams (Miami and St. Louis) is bound to win one of these weeks. Just hopefully it won’t be this one.
