[...] completely missed this until this evening, but someone posted a comment here under the name of holloway (class of ‘86). Fred Goodwin fortunately saw this, identifying the individual as Johnny Holloway, a seventh round [...]
A real honor to be a part of the very special place in yalls’ heart reserved just for us. In the days of old, under Coach Landry,we carried the spirit of folks like yall into every Sunday gridiron battle. Folks like yourselves continously remind me of the honor and privilege it was to play for “America’s Team”. Thanks for the Love!
Would that be Johnny Holloway, CB and former Kansas Jayhawk? Those ’86 Cowboys had a tough season (going 7-9) after a promising ’85 campaign when they won the NFC East (10-6).
So what are you up to these days, Mr. Holloway?
1986 could have been a great year for Dallas were it not for Danny White’s injury in week 9 against the Giants. The franchise took years to recover from that.
Turns out that Mr. Holloway had his one career interception against the Cardinals at St. Louis in 1986. I happen to have that game recorded. I’ll try to find that pick, given that this appears to be the first member of the Cowboys, past or present, ever to post to this blog. Many thanks for the comment.
How cool is it to have a comment from a real Cowboy??
That’s neat — I’m also a member of a DCC group, and it includes former cheerleaders who post now and then — but this is really special.
