Witten May Lead the Team in Receiving Yards for the First Time

Jason Witten has led the Cowboys in receptions before, but he has never led the team in receiving yards for a season. With his 10-reception, 140-yard effort on Sunday against Washington, he now has 911 receiving yards, which tops Miles Austin’s total of 864. Unless Austin gets on track in the last two games this year, Witten is likely to finish with the high marks in both receptions and receiving yards. His touchdown total of 7 matches the best season of his career (2007), and he has two more games to find the end zone again.

Below is a look at his season-by-season totals:

  • You’d think Witten would be a shoo-in for the HoF, but with the Cowboys history, and the fact that Shannon Sharpe isn’t even in yet, you never know. I put Witten as definitely one of the top 10 Cowboys players ever.
