Dallas Cowboys Jersey Numbers: Updates for Nos. 46 through 50

Not much of an update for greatest Dallas Cowboys by their jersey numbers between jersey numbers 46 through 50.

Mark Washington received 68% of the vote in 2008, and nothing has change since then. Fullback Oliver Hoyte wore #46 in 2006 and 2007 but did not accomplish much.

Dexter Clinkscale remains the greatest to wear #47. He was most famous for being a member of Thurman’s Thieves. Linebacker Alex Albright wore the number in 2011.

This was a no-brainer, as Daryl Johnston is the only notable player to wear #48. Nobody has worn the number in the regular season since Terry Witherspoon in 2001.

Tight end Brett Pierce was the greatest player to wear #49, but we gave the honor to Tom Landry, who wore this number during his own playing days with the Giants.

Sean Lee may turn out to be the greatest to wear #50, but it’s still awfully early. D.D. Lewis had 13 solid seasons in Dallas, and the late Jerry Tubbs had his own contributions in the early days of the franchise.

As for # 46, I remember when Craig Baynam filled in for Dan Reeves in 1968 when he suffered a major knee inury.  decent runner and good pass catcher out of the backfield.  Had a big game in the 1967 East Division wipe out of Cleveland.  Anyway, while a good distacne from the longer career of Mark Washington, I remember Craig B when I was a youngster and that he was a capable fill in starter.  Was bewildered they traded him to Chicago and retained Les Shy instead.
